Devastating EF-3 Tornado Leaves Three Dead and Numerous Injured in Logan County, Ohio

A powerful EF-3 tornado, accompanied by severe storms, has wreaked havoc in Logan County, Ohio. Aerial footage reveals the devastating aftermath of the destruction caused by the tornado, which tore through the area on Thursday. Located about 70 miles northwest of Columbus, the popular destination of Indian Lake in Logan County has witnessed widespread damage, particularly in the community of Lakeview.
Logan County Sheriff Randall Dodds has confirmed that three individuals have tragically lost their lives in the storm, although their names and ages have not yet been released. Alongside the casualties, numerous people have sustained injuries, leading to a mass casualty incident being declared. Search and rescue operations were tirelessly conducted throughout the night and into the morning, ultimately being completed on Friday afternoon.
Mary Rutan Hospital in Logan County reported receiving 19 patients in the emergency room, all with weather-related injuries. These injuries primarily consisted of bone fractures and concussions. Although the hospital experienced a surge in patients, they reassured the public that they were not at full capacity and could still accommodate more individuals requiring medical attention.
Significant damage can be observed across the affected area, with buildings displaying blown-out windows and poles penetrating the roofs of several structures. The tornado made landfall near the southern end of Indian Lake, devastating the villages of Lakeview and Russells Point. The Lakeside RV Park also fell victim to the destructive force of the storm, which struck after 8 p.m.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine issued a statement expressing his deep sorrow for those impacted by the tornadoes and severe storms.
