**Deshaun Watson's Season Ends Due to Achilles Injury**

Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson's season has come to an abrupt end after he suffered a ruptured Achilles during Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed the unfortunate news.

Following the injury, initial fears were confirmed through an MRI conducted on Monday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Watson is set to undergo surgery to repair his Achilles, with the procedure to be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache. Interestingly, Watson is considering the "speed bridge" technique, which was also used on New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, enabling him to return to practice within 77 days.

The injury occurred in the first half when Watson planted his right leg to start a scramble, leading to an immediate collapse on the turf. Backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson began warming up as athletic trainers attended to Watson, who was eventually carted off the field in visible pain.

Thompson-Robinson replaced Watson but struggled to find rhythm, completing 11 of 24 passes for 82 yards and throwing two interceptions. The game concluded with Jameis Winston taking the reins, completing 5 of 11 passes for 67 yards and a late 8-yard touchdown to David Njoku.

Watson, who joined the Browns from the Houston Texans in 2022, has had a tumultuous tenure in Cleveland. Known for his Pro Bowl appearances during his time with the Texans, Watson has faced numerous allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, resulting in a significant absence from the field. In March 2022, the Browns signed Watson to a historic five-year, $230 million contract, the largest fully guaranteed deal in NFL history.

Despite high expectations, Watson's performance in Cleveland has been underwhelming. His 2023 season was cut short due to a shoulder injury requiring surgery, limiting him to six games. This year, Watson's stats have continued to decline, and Cleveland (1-6) ranked last in the NFL in offensive yards per game, contributing to a five-game losing streak.

Adding to the off-field troubles, Watson faced a new sexual assault allegation in September, which has been settled privately. The Browns and the NFL are still addressing this matter under their respective procedures.
