Denver Broncos Trim Roster Ahead of Deadline

In preparation for the upcoming roster deadline, the Denver Broncos have made a series of moves, officially announcing eight roster changes on Monday. The team released three players from their roster, including defensive lineman Angelo Blackson, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett, and inside linebacker Andre Smith. Additionally, the Broncos waived safety Omar Brown, cornerback Art Green, defensive back Kaleb Hayes, offensive lineman Oliver Jervis, and inside linebacker Alec Mock.

Following these moves, the Broncos' active roster now stands at 83 players. It is important to note that the team's current total includes linebacker Drew Sanders and safety Delarrin Turner-Yell, who are both on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. These players, although currently unable to participate in practice, still count towards the league's 90-player limit.

Prior to these roster changes, the Broncos had a total of 91 players on their roster. However, tight end Thomas Yassmin was previously designated as Denver's international player exemption, which allows him to be excluded from the 90-player limit.

As Tuesday's 2 p.m. deadline approaches, the Broncos are making these necessary adjustments to ensure their roster meets the league's requirements. This deadline is mandated by the league and applies to all NFL teams.

The Denver Broncos continue their preparations for the upcoming season, evaluating and reshaping their roster to field a competitive team.
