After a scorching high temperature of 87ºF yesterday, the combination of humidity and evening storms resulted in the formation of dense fog across parts of Pennsylvania this morning. The National Weather Service issued a Dense Fog Advisory for Southern Pennsylvania, which remained in effect until 10 AM, as visibility dropped below 1 mile in some areas. However, other regions experiencing fog can expect it to dissipate later in the morning.

While the advisory boundaries were mainly confined to Southern Pennsylvania, Central Maryland also reported areas of dense fog, possibly due to rainfall received during the previous night. In Central Maryland, visibility may surpass the criteria stated in the advisory.

Once the fog lifts, the forecast for the day calls for warm and humid conditions. There is a slight possibility of isolated strong storms developing later this afternoon and evening, with less than 30% chance of occurrence. However, as night falls, the probability of severe weather increases, especially from the western part of the state and extending into midnight.

The main energy for the severe outbreak is currently situated in the Midwest, but meteorologists predict that the severe risk will shift towards the Mid-Atlantic region on Monday. Pennsylvania residents can expect cooler air to move in during the workweek following the anticipated severe weather.

While it is too early to provide exact details on timing, radar simulations suggest that the best chance for showers or storms will manifest later this evening and into the night. However, it is important to note that these are mere suggestions and not firm predictions.

As the Severe Risk shifts towards the Mid-Atlantic on Memorial Day Monday, residents are advised to stay updated on the latest weather reports. With the potential for severe storms, it is important to remain vigilant and prepared for any sudden changes that may occur.

In conclusion, the Dense Fog Advisory in Southern Pennsylvania has now been lifted, as visibility improves and fog dissipates. As the day progresses, warm and humid conditions can be expected, with the possibility of isolated strong storms in the afternoon. However, the greater threat of severe weather remains overnight, as weather systems move in from the west. Stay tuned for further updates on the severe outbreak expected on Monday.
