In a recent incident, a Delta Airlines flight was forced to return to John F Kennedy Airport in New York after an emergency slide billowed out from above one wing shortly after take-off. The Boeing plane, bound for Los Angeles with 176 passengers, two pilots, and five cabin crew on board, landed safely back at the airport around 8.35 am.

The emergency situation arose when cabin crew noticed a "flight deck indication related to the right wing emergency exit slide, as well as a non-routine sound from near the right wing," said Delta Airlines. The airline promptly declared an emergency, ensuring the safety of those on board.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has initiated an investigation into the incident, as cabin crew reported experiencing a vibration.
