### Delta Air Lines Halts Hot Meal Service at DTW Due to Food Safety Concerns

Delta Air Lines paused its hot meal service for some passengers departing from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) over the recent weekend, citing a safety concern. The airline revealed that an inspection had flagged a food safety issue at a catering facility, leading to the immediate suspension of hot meal production.

A statement from Delta confirmed that the catering partner had been alerted to the issue during the inspection, prompting both the airline and the partner to halt hot food production and all related activities at the DTW facility. Delta assured that hot food and other onboard provisions for affected flights would be sourced from alternative facilities.

Between Friday and Sunday, more than 200 flights from Detroit did not serve hot meals, according to Delta. Despite the logistical challenges, Delta confirmed that no illnesses had been reported due to the food from the Detroit kitchen.

Delta offers hot meals on long-haul international flights as well as to Delta One or first-class passengers on select domestic coast-to-coast routes. Passengers who missed out on hot meal service over the weekend were compensated with travel vouchers or frequent flyer miles.

Delta has taken these steps as a precaution to ensure the safety and well-being of its passengers while addressing the issue at the Detroit catering facility.
