**Daniel Jones Reacts to Benching and Future Prospects**
Quarterback Daniel Jones faced the media on Thursday for the first time since the New York Giants announced his demotion in favor of Tommy DeVito. Expressing mixed emotions, Jones began his press conference by describing his tenure with the Giants as "a dream come true." He acknowledged the team's decision to bench him, admitting, "I did not play well enough consistently enough to help the team get results."
In a gesture of optimism, Jones mentioned his eagerness for future opportunities, saying, "I'm excited for the next opportunity and know there's a lot of good football in front of me." Despite his positive outlook, this continuation of his football career won't be with the Giants. The team has relegated him to fourth-string and had him participate as a scout team safety on Thursday.
Although the Giants can't legally prevent Jones from attending practices while still on the roster, Jones hinted at the possibility of a different arrangement. When asked if he plans to remain with the team for the rest of the season, he commented, "I think I'm still kinda processing. For now, I'm doing the best I can to help Tommy prepare, help the team prepare. That's what I'm going to do right now."
Jones's inactivity is largely due to his injury guarantee for the next season. While he has been limited to throwing passes at practice, he expressed a strong desire to play, stating there were discussions with the team about his situation because he "badly" wants to be on the field. However, it appears increasingly likely that any future snaps will be taken wearing a different team's uniform.
