**Dan Muse Appointed as New Head Coach of Pittsburgh Penguins**

Dan Muse has been named the new head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, succeeding Mike Sullivan who ended his nearly decade-long tenure in April. Kyle Dubas, the Penguin's President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, expressed confidence in Muse, citing his ability to develop players and consistent success in coaching special teams in the NHL.

"Dan Muse emerged as our top choice due to his track record in player development, winning at all levels of coaching, and his impressive work in managing special teams," said Dubas. "His success spans from nurturing college and junior players to significantly impacting veteran NHL players. Dan’s capability to connect with players at every stage of their careers and help them achieve their potential distinguished him from other candidates."

Dubas further highlighted Muse's leadership in special teams at both Nashville and New York, where he delivered outstanding results. "His overall body of work and meticulous attention to detail convinced us he is the ideal coach to lead our team into the future. We are thrilled to welcome Dan and his family to Pittsburgh," he added.

Muse, a 2005 graduate of Stonehill College, transitioned into coaching after playing four years of college hockey. His coaching journey began at Milton Academy in 2005 and included roles at Sacred Heart University and Williams College before he moved to Yale University. At Yale, Muse served for six seasons, including as associate head coach, and played a crucial role in the Bulldogs' 2013 National Championship win.

From 2015 to 2017, Muse was head coach of the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League (USHL), where he led the team to an Eastern Conference title and the franchise’s first-ever Clark Cup Championship. His tenure with USA Hockey included leading the National Team Development Program from 2020-2023 and coaching the Under-18 team to a gold medal at the 2023 World Under-18 Championship.

During his time with USA Hockey, Muse made significant impacts, setting a single-season NTDP record with 16 wins over NCAA opponents. He has also contributed as video coach at the World Junior Championships in 2013 and 2014, earning a gold medal during the 2013 campaign.

With his extensive experience and notable achievements across various levels of hockey, Dan Muse is poised to bring fresh leadership and continued success to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
