Stella Parton, 75, took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to share her grief. "My brother David passed away peacefully this morning," she wrote. "It's never easy to say goodbye to a loved one but he got his angel wings and is now at peace."

An online obituary disclosed that David died at his home in White Pine, Tennessee, on Friday morning but did not specify the cause of death. Stella also shared her sorrow on Facebook, expressing, "It's never easy to lose a loved one. My wonderful brother David Parton passed in the early hours of the morning." She later posted another message, thanking people for their kind thoughts and support as the family grieved the loss of their oldest brother.

Dolly Parton, who is 78 years old, has not commented publicly about her brother's passing. David was one of 12 Parton siblings. Their family includes sisters Willadene, 84, Cassie, 73, Freida, 67, Rachel, 65, and brothers Coy, 81, and Robert Jr., 76. Three of their siblings— Randy, Larry, and Floyd—had already passed away prior to David’s death.
