**North Carolina Artists Unite for Hurricane Helene Relief Concert**
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, some of North Carolina’s most notable musicians are banding together for a charitable concert in Charlotte. Set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Bank of America Stadium, the "Concert for Carolina" will feature performances by Eric Church, Luke Combs, Billy Strings, and James Taylor. Organized in collaboration with Explore Asheville, the event aims to raise funds for relief efforts in western North Carolina.
The concert will be co-hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool Sports’ Caleb Pressley. Organizers have indicated that more artists will join the lineup, with announcements forthcoming.
The initiative gained momentum following a generous offer from David Tepper, owner of the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte FC, and Bank of America Stadium, and his wife Nicole Tepper. Upon learning about the relief concert, the Teppers promptly provided the stadium as the venue for the event. "The call to David Tepper and his wife Nicole Tepper was met with overwhelming generosity and decisive action," organizers noted, highlighting the rapid coordination efforts to make the concert possible.
Proceeds from the event will be equally divided between the charitable foundations of Luke Combs and Eric Church. Combs' funds will support Samaritan's Purse, Manna Food Bank, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, while Church’s portion will go to his Chief Cares Foundation. Notably, Eric Church recently donated the publishing rights to his song "Darkest Hour" to aid North Carolina's recovery from Hurricane Helene, further stressing his commitment to the cause.
Additionally, WCNC Charlotte has partnered with the American Red Cross to channel donations toward hurricane relief. A designated web page has been set up where individuals can contribute either a specified monetary amount or one of their choosing, using a credit card or PayPal. Donors also have an option to contribute via mail by filling out and mailing a donation form.
Organizer and artist efforts, combined with public support, aim to provide substantial aid to communities affected by Hurricane Helene, illustrating the power of unity in times of crisis.
