The Colorado Avalanche, one of the prominent teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), have unveiled their highly-anticipated schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 regular season. The announcement comes as thrilling news for Avalanche fans, who eagerly await the team's first game on Wednesday, October 9, against the Vegas Golden Knights on the road.

Following their season opener, the Avalanche will return to their home arena, Ball Arena, for their first home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets just three days later on October 12. The Avs are set to play 26 games against their Central Division opponents, including rivalries against Chicago, Minnesota, Nashville, St. Louis, and Winnipeg.

Excitement mounts as the Avalanche are scheduled to face the Utah Hockey Club for the first time since its relocation during the offseason, with three games against them, one at home and two on the road. Their inaugural regular-season game in Utah will take place on October 24, while Colorado fans can look forward to hosting the Utah Hockey Club on December 12.

The Avalanche will also compete against teams from the Pacific Division, playing each opponent three times throughout the season. In addition, the Avalanche will face a total of 32 teams from the Eastern Conference, with equal home and away games.

One aspect of the schedule that stands out is the twelve back-to-back sets of games for the Avalanche. Known for their success in such situations, with a combined record of 72-25-11 over the past five seasons, the Avalanche will face the challenge of playing back-to-back games, with eleven of them involving travel. There is, however, one exception where the Avalanche will enjoy back-to-back home games against Ottawa and Chicago on October 27 and 28, respectively.

January is expected to be the busiest month for the Avalanche, with 15 games scheduled. Moreover, both January and March will witness the most home games, each having nine on the schedule. Fans can look forward to an extended homestand from February 26 to March 10, encompassing six consecutive games in Ball Arena.

The schedule also accounts for breaks and special events, including a four-day hiatus from December 23 to 26 to coincide with the NHL's Christmas Break. Furthermore, a notable 14-day pause in February is planned for the 4 Nations Face-Off, which will see NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States compete in an international tournament.

The regular season will conclude for the Avalanche on April 13, with a back-to-back matchup against the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks in Southern California. Leading up to the end of the regular season, the Avalanche are set to host their final home games on April 8 against the Vegas Golden Knights and April 10 against the Vancouver Canucks.

Notably, the Avalanche will also showcase their skills in nine afternoon games during the 2024-25 season, with five at Ball Arena and four on the road. A formidable force in daytime matchups, the Avalanche's impressive record of 17-5-1 since the 2021-22 season and 25-7-2 since 2019-20 should inspire confidence among fans.

For those eager to secure their spot at the thrilling Avalanche games, single-game tickets will be available for purchase starting Friday, July 12, at 10:00 a.m. Full Season Memberships and Partial Deposits can already be made by contacting the Avalanche Sales Office or visiting the team's official website.

As anticipation grows among Colorado Avalanche fans, the team's 2024-25 regular season schedule promises an exhilarating journey filled with fierce rivalries, intense matchups, and the hope of making it to the playoffs.
