The Cleveland Cavaliers, in collaboration with the Cleveland Clinic and Bedrock Real Estate, have released the first official renderings of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center. This groundbreaking facility, situated on the Cuyahoga River in downtown Cleveland, aims to revolutionize athletic performance and serve as the Cavaliers' new home.

Designed by the architectural firm Populous, the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will span over 210,000 sq ft, making it one of the largest training facilities in the world. It is part of Bedrock's ambitious $3.5 billion Cuyahoga Riverfront Master Plan, which seeks to transform 35 acres of the riverfront with a focus on accessibility and sustainability.

The collaboration between the Cavaliers and the Cleveland Clinic aims to establish Cleveland as a global destination for sports science and wellness. The center will provide resources to enhance athletes' skills and extend their careers through cutting-edge technology and interdisciplinary care from experts in fields such as orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, cardiology, and genetics.

Tom Mihaljevic, MD, CEO and President of the Cleveland Clinic, expressed excitement about how this project will not only improve the city's landscape but also contribute to multidisciplinary care for patients of all athletic abilities. The Global Peak Performance Center sets a new standard for community engagement and represents a significant investment in the long-term success of the Cavaliers franchise.

The Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will not only cater to professional athletes but also offer comprehensive care to the general public. It will provide access to high-tech training equipment, testing, and expert professionals in various specialties. Leveraging big data repositories and artificial intelligence technology, the center will maximize every athlete's potential, giving them a competitive edge in both physical and mental aspects.

Pending approval, groundbreaking for the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center is expected to take place by the end of 2024. Once completed, the center will solidify the Cavaliers' reputation as a forward-thinking and innovative sports franchise.

The center's design takes inspiration from the Cuyahoga River and its surroundings, incorporating the colors and curvature of the river into its aesthetic. Additionally, there will be a public kayak launch point, allowing the general public to enjoy the waterfront for the first time in nearly a century.

Located just blocks away from the Gateway Sports Complex and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center will breathe new life into downtown Cleveland, aligning with the city's vision of becoming a vibrant neighborhood for living, working, and playing.

The Cavaliers' commitment to community support and engagement is further exemplified through the Global Peak Performance Center. As the only Cleveland Clinic-backed professional facility open to the public, it will also serve as a platform for the Cavs Academy program, benefiting over 50,000 youth athletes in Northeast Ohio annually.

The unveiling of the Cleveland Clinic Global Peak Performance Center marks a major milestone in the partnership between the Cavaliers, the Cleveland Clinic, and Bedrock Real Estate. The project represents their shared vision of excellence in sports and healthcare, creating a lasting impact not only in Cleveland but globally.
