In an exciting announcement, the Clemson Tigers baseball team has been awarded the No. 6 national seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Tigers, with a remarkable season record of 41-14, will have the privilege of hosting the regional games at the iconic Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Joining Clemson in their regional field will be Vanderbilt, Coastal Carolina, and High Point. The Tigers have had recent encounters with Vanderbilt in 2017 and 2018, where the Commodores triumphed and advanced to the Super Regionals. Unfortunately, scheduled games against Coastal Carolina this season had to be canceled due to inclement weather. This tournament also marks the final season for long-time coach Gary Gilmore at Coastal Carolina.

The highly anticipated tournament will kick off with Clemson facing High Point at 7 pm on Friday, and the game will be televised on ACCN. The Vanderbilt-Coastal Carolina matchup will take place earlier in the day at noon on ESPN2.

As a top-8 national seed, Clemson has the opportunity to host the Super Regional round should they advance through this weekend's games. The regional is also paired with Oklahoma State, who will face off against Florida as the 3-seed.

Clemson is determined to make history this season, aiming to reach the College World Series for the first time since 2010. The Tigers also have their sights set on the regional final, having last reached it in 2018. With the double-elimination format in place, they will have one or two chances to secure a spot in the coveted Super Regionals.

This tournament appearance holds significance for Clemson as it marks their 46th time participating in the NCAA Tournament. Hosting the regional games for the 18th time since 1980 further highlights their success and recognition in college baseball.

Leading up to this tournament, Clemson showcased their strong performance, ranking No. 7 in the RPI and KPI rankings. Furthermore, their rigorous schedule placed them at an impressive No. 16 in strength of schedule.

After closing the regular season with a sweep against Boston College, the Tigers displayed their competitive spirit in the ACC Baseball Championship with a record of 1-1. These games ended with two thrilling 8-7 results, including a loss to 11-seed Miami in the Pool B championship and a victory over 7-seed Louisville.

With the bracket now set, anticipation and excitement fill the air as Clemson and the competitive field of teams prepare to battle for glory in the NCAA Tournament. Stay tuned to witness the Tigers' pursuit of greatness as they endeavor to make their mark in college baseball.
