The 52-year-old actress disclosed her diagnosis of MS in August 2021, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. Despite the challenges she has faced, Applegate expressed gratitude for the support she has received from fellow individuals battling the condition.

Since her diagnosis, Applegate has been transparent with her fans about how MS has impacted her daily life and career. Further sharing the effects of MS on her health, Applegate disclosed that she now wears diapers due to her loss of control over her bowels. In April, on her podcast "MeSsy," she revealed consuming a salad contaminated with fecal matter, which contributed to her condition. Despite these difficulties, Applegate remains resilient and continues to advocate for raising awareness about MS.

Applegate's battle against MS has also resulted in 30 lesions on her brain and the loss of circulation in her legs during a relapse. In light of these ailments, the Emmy-award winning actress openly admitted to not enjoying living life anymore. She later clarified that expressing her "dark thoughts" was crucial for her healing process, although assured her fans that she is not contemplating suicide.

As Christina Applegate bravely faces her health challenges, she remains an inspiration to individuals around the world.
