Pulisic, the United States star, initiated the scoring in the 34th minute at San Siro with an inswinging corner from the left. His spectacular effort evaded both the goalkeeper and defenders, eventually bouncing into the net despite a desperate clearance attempt on the goal line. This unique goal, known as an "Olimpico," was the first of Pulisic's career.
With this goal, Pulisic has now contributed to 10 goals in the last 10 games for both club and country. Moreover, this was his second goal in three Champions League appearances this season, having previously found the net in Milan's opening loss to Liverpool last month. In Serie A, his record stands at five goals and three assists over eight matches. Additionally, he registered an assist in Mauricio Pochettino’s debut game as the USMNT coach against Panama earlier in the month.
Despite being reduced to ten men following Raphael Onyedika’s red card in the 40th minute, Club Brugge managed to equalize through Kyriani Sabbe's goal in the 51st minute. However, Milan secured a much-needed win with two goals from Tijjani Reijnders, marking their first victory in this season's Champions League after an earlier defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
The match also saw 16-year-old Francesco Camarda make history as he came on in the 75th minute, becoming the youngest Italian to debut in the Champions League. Though he temporarily believed he had scored, his header was disallowed for offside, pausing what would have been a record-breaking celebration.
