### Concerns Arise Over Netflix's Ability to Stream Steelers-Chiefs Christmas Game

Last Saturday night’s much-anticipated boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul faced significant streaming issues on Netflix, raising concerns for NFL fans. Despite Jake Paul claiming an easy victory, the focus shifted to the technical difficulties viewers experienced while trying to watch the event on Netflix.

In light of these challenges, apprehensions have surfaced regarding Netflix’s debut in broadcasting NFL games. The streaming service is set to air the Pittsburgh Steelers versus Kansas City Chiefs game on December 25, marking its first foray into NFL coverage. This matchup is crucial as both teams are among the elite in the AFC, with the Chiefs boasting a 9-1 record and the Steelers close behind at 8-2. The outcome could significantly impact the race for the top playoff seed.

Pro Football Talk commentator Mike Florio voiced his skepticism about Netflix's capability to handle the live streaming of such a critical game. Speaking on 93.7 The Fan, Florio mentioned, “Of course, the NFL is gonna support Netflix. It's too late to pull the plug, and they're getting $150 million for those two games. I'd be very concerned if you're not in the viewing area where they're gonna have the game available on an over-the-air TV station.”

While the NFL has publicly expressed satisfaction with Netflix’s assurances that the Christmas broadcasts will proceed without issues, last Saturday's mishap remains a notable concern. The league reportedly stands by Netflix, driven by a substantial $150 million deal for the two Christmas Day games.

Despite the streaming hiccups experienced during the Tyson-Paul fight, there is a glimmer of hope. Netflix has a five-week window to rectify any issues and ensure a seamless viewing experience on December 25. Given the high stakes and the intense competition between the Steelers and the Chiefs, Netflix is under significant pressure to deliver flawless service.

The Christmas Day game is expected to draw a massive audience. Last year’s holiday matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Chiefs attracted 37.2 million viewers. With both Pittsburgh and Kansas City having exceptional seasons, viewer numbers could potentially surpass this figure, making it imperative for Netflix to enhance its streaming reliability.
