### David Tepper Commits $3 Million to Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper and his wife Nicole are stepping up to assist those affected by Hurricane Helene, pledging an initial $3 million through their foundation. This generous commitment aims to support both immediate and long-term recovery efforts in North and South Carolina, areas heavily impacted by the Category 4 storm.
In a released statement, David and Nicole Tepper expressed solidarity with those suffering from the storm's devastation. "The David & Nicole Tepper Foundation, Carolina Panthers, and Charlotte FC stand alongside all those who have been affected by Hurricane Helene and the devastation it has wrought across the southeast, and particularly in our backyard throughout the Carolinas," they said.
Tepper, who took ownership of the Panthers in 2018, emphasized the foundation's role in aiding a range of local institutions. The pledged funds will be directed towards food banks, pantries, community foundations, and various service agencies throughout the Carolinas. "This is our home and we are committed to supporting relief efforts throughout the region by providing critical resources and aiding the efforts of our heroic first responders," the Teppers stated. "The impact on our community has been severe, but Carolinians are resilient and courageous, and together, we will rebuild and recover."
In a related act of benevolence, the Glazer family, owners of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, announced a $1 million donation on Saturday. Their contribution aims to support local nonprofit organizations focused on assisting those most affected by the hurricane in the Tampa Bay area.
Both donations highlight the critical role that sports franchise owners can play in spearheading relief efforts and supporting communities in times of crisis.
