Cape Cod Man Arrested and Charged in Shooting Incident

A 26-year-old man from Cape Cod has been arrested and is now facing multiple charges following a shooting incident involving a 41-year-old man. The Barnstable police reported that the incident took place on Friday evening when they received a distress call from a woman residing on Winter Street in Hyannis.

According to the police, the shooting victim managed to make his way to the woman's house and was found suffering from several gunshot wounds. Investigators determined that the 41-year-old had been shot by the 26-year-old suspect, who was known to him and was staying at a residence on Winter Street.

The injured individual was immediately transported to Cape Cod Hospital and later transferred to a medical facility in Boston, where he remains in stable condition. The suspect, on the other hand, was located in Plymouth and subsequently taken into custody by the Plymouth Police Department as a result of the ongoing investigation.

Both individuals involved in the incident have not been identified by the Barnstable police. However, the 26-year-old suspect has been charged with assault by a dangerous weapon - firearm, assault to murder, assault and battery, along with other firearms-related charges.

The suspect is currently being held on a bail amounting to $100,000 and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Barnstable District Court on Monday. Law enforcement authorities are continuing their efforts to gather evidence and further investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.

As the investigation unfolds, more details may come to light regarding the motive behind the shooting and any potential prior relationship between the suspect and the victim. The local community will be closely following the case as it progresses through the court system.
