In a press conference on Monday, Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott gave a thorough update on the team's injury report as they approach the final week of the preseason. With several players sidelined due to injuries, McDermott shed light on the expected timelines for their return.

According to McDermott, there are a number of players who will be out for multiple weeks. While he did not specify names, it is apparent that these injuries will have an impact on the team's preparations for the upcoming regular season.

In addition to the players ruled out for several weeks, there are others who are considered week-to-week. This means that their status will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and there is hope for their potential return sooner rather than later.

McDermott shared some encouraging news regarding the recovery process of several players who were sidelined. Safeties Mike Edwards and Cole Bishop, along with linebacker Nick Morrow, will be taking part in walk-throughs and individual drills during practice this week. This suggests that they are progressing well and could potentially be back on the field in the near future.

However, there are still some key players who will remain unavailable for the upcoming practices and preseason finale. Offensive tackle Travis Clayton will continue to be sidelined, while wide receiver Lawrence Keys is said to be improving. Defensive end Casey Toohil, on the other hand, is hopeful for a return later in the week. Both defensive end Javon Solomon and defensive tackle Austin Johnson will have limited participation in practice due to their respective injuries.

With the team facing a multitude of injuries, the Bills are actively exploring options to add another quarterback to their roster. Mitchell Trubisky got the start in the Bills' preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, with QB Ben DiNucci joining the game towards the end of the first half. DiNucci was recently signed to the roster following a neck injury sustained by Shane Buechele, who has since been placed on the injured reserve list.

McDermott confirmed that the team's starters will not be playing in the preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. Due to the mounting injuries and lack of availability, McDermott believes it is the right decision to rest the starters and give the other players an opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for a spot on the final roster.

The Bills will face the Panthers at Highmark Stadium this Saturday at 1 p.m. It will be a crucial game for the players on the fringe of the roster as they strive to leave a lasting impression on the coaching staff.

As the preseason nears its end, the Buffalo Bills are navigating through a challenging period of injuries. However, McDermott and his coaching staff remain optimistic and focused on overcoming these obstacles to field a strong and competitive team when the regular season kicks off.
