20th Century Studios has recently acquired the rights to "Deliver Me From Nowhere," a forthcoming film that delves into the making of Bruce Springsteen's influential 1982 album, "Nebraska." The movie will be based on Warren Zanes' book, "Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska," published in 2023.

In talks to star as the iconic rocker is Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in the series "The Bear." The film will be written and directed by Scott Cooper, acclaimed for his work in films such as "Crazy Heart" and "Hostiles."

"Nebraska" was initially expected to be a traditional rock album with the E Street Band but instead showcased Springsteen's raw solo talents, recorded on a simple 4-track machine. Recognized as a significant milestone in his artistic journey, the album is deemed a turning point in Springsteen's musical evolution.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson, Scott Cooper, Warren Zanes, and Scott Stuber will serve as producers for the film, which is set to commence production in the fall. Bruce Springsteen and his longtime manager Jon Landau will also be involved in the project.

David Greenbaum, President of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, expressed his enthusiasm for working with Springsteen, stating, "It is a once-in-a-lifetime honor to be collaborating with Bruce Springsteen, an inspiring and incomparable artist who represents so much to so many." He also commended Scott Cooper as the ideal filmmaker to capture the authenticity of Springsteen's story.

Jon Landau shared his excitement regarding the adaptation, stating, "Bruce and I are thrilled that Scott Cooper has chosen to write and direct the film based on [Warren Zanes'] book - we think he's the perfect filmmaker for the job." He expressed confidence in Cooper's ability to bring Bruce's 55-year career to life with vision and soul.

In a joint statement, producers Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson praised Zanes' book for its brilliant portrayal of Springsteen and his music. They emphasized the privilege of working with Bruce, Jon Landau, and Scott Cooper to share this story with global audiences.

Scott Cooper himself expressed his personal connection to Springsteen's work, particularly "Nebraska," which has profoundly influenced his own creative endeavors. He aims to honor Springsteen's indomitable spirit and provide audiences with a transformative cinematic experience.

The film's production team includes notable industry representatives, such as CAA and attorney Darren Trattner for Scott Cooper; CAA and attorney George Davis for The Gotham Group's Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Eric Robinson; Landau, Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks for Bruce Springsteen; and CAA for Warren Zanes.

With the collaboration of esteemed talents and the involvement of Springsteen himself, "Deliver Me From Nowhere" promises to be a captivating exploration of Bruce Springsteen's artistic journey during the creation of his iconic "Nebraska" album. Fans eagerly await its release, as it unveils the universal truths that resonate through Springsteen's music.
