In a recent incident, a British Airways A380 aircraft registered as G-XLEJ encountered multiple delays during its scheduled flight from London Heathrow to Los Angeles (LAX). The airline has confirmed that the delays were caused by an issue on board the aircraft.
The flight was scheduled to depart from London Heathrow at 14:05 BST, but shortly after leaving Terminal 5 and lining up on runway 09R, the A380 returned to the gate. Details about the specific issue onboard have not been disclosed by the airline as of now.
Approximately one hour later, the aircraft once again left the gate and made its way to runway 27L, as Heathrow had switched active runways due to a change in wind direction at 15:00 BST. However, to the dismay of the passengers, a similar scenario unfolded as the takeoff had to be aborted and the plane left the runway.
Finally, at 17:00 BST, after a few minutes of additional delay, the A380 successfully returned to the runway threshold and took off. The exact nature of the issue and the measures taken to resolve it are currently unknown.
Passengers on board the delayed flight expressed their frustration and disappointment due to the prolonged delay. The airline has apologized for the inconvenience caused and has acknowledged the late departure, attributing it to the issue onboard.
British Airways has always prioritized the safety and comfort of its passengers, and it is expected that a thorough investigation will be conducted to identify the underlying cause of the issue.
It is advisable for passengers traveling on British Airways to stay updated on the status of their flights and any possible delays.
