In an exciting and nostalgic start to the 2024 season, the Boston Red Sox will pay tribute to the 20th anniversary of their historic 2004 World Series victory. The Red Sox have announced that nearly 40 members of the championship-winning team will be in attendance for their home opener at Fenway Park on Tuesday, as they face off against the Baltimore Orioles.

The 2004 World Series triumph holds a special place in the hearts of Red Sox fans, as it marked the end of an 86-year championship drought for the franchise. To commemorate this significant milestone, the organization has invited a star-studded lineup of coaches and players from that memorable team.

Among the celebrated attendees will be coaches Terry Francona, Bill Haselman, Ron Jackson, Brad Mills, Dale Sveum, and Dave Wallace. The players expected to grace Fenway Park once again include Jimmy Anderson, Jamie Brown, Bronson Arroyo, Orlando Cabrera, César Crespo, Johnny Damon, Brian Daubach, Lenny DiNardo, Keith Foulke, Adam Hyzdu, Gabe Kapler, Curt Leskanic, Derek Lowe, Mark Malaska, Dave McCarty, Ramiro Mendoza, Doug Mientkiewicz, Kevin Millar, Mike Myers, Trot Nixon, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, Calvin "Pokey" Reese, Phil Seibel, Earl Snyder, Mike Timlin, Jason Varitek, Scott Williamson, and Kevin Youkilis.

In addition to honoring the players and coaches, the Red Sox will also pay a special pregame tribute to the late Tim Wakefield and his wife, Stacey. Tim Wakefield, a beloved member of the 2004 team, passed away last October, and his wife sadly followed five months later. Furthermore, the organization will remember the recently departed former Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino, who died last week at the age of 78.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to be in their seats by 1:30 p.m. ET to witness the commemorative ceremonies. However, for those unable to be at Fenway Park, NESN will provide extensive coverage, with 90 minutes of pregame programming leading up to the highly anticipated first pitch at 2:10 p.m.

The stage is set for a festive and emotional day at Fenway Park as the Red Sox pay tribute to their glorious past and the team that brought an unforgettable championship to the city of Boston.
