### Red Sox Manager Cora Takes Blame Following Latest Defeat

The Boston Red Sox experienced another setback as they lost a close game in extra innings to the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night. The defeat marked Boston's eighth loss out of their last ten games, dropping their season record to 29-34. With this record, the team now sits in fourth place in the highly competitive AL East, trailing the division-leading New York Yankees by 10 games.

After the 4-3 loss at Fenway Park, Red Sox manager Alex Cora took responsibility for the team's continued struggles. “We keep making the same mistakes,” Cora admitted in the post-game press conference, as reported by MassLive's Christopher Smith. “We're not getting better. At one point it has to be on me, I guess, right? I'm the manager. I've gotta keep pushing them to get better. They're not getting better. They're not. We keep making the same mistakes.”

The Red Sox's defensive woes were highlighted once again as they committed three errors during the game, increasing their season total to 53. This unfortunate statistic makes them the most error-prone team in the MLB, surpassing even the Colorado Rockies, who have tallied 51 errors. In comparison, the Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels have each committed 40 errors this season.

Boston's starting pitcher Brayan Bello struggled in the third inning, giving up three runs to the Angels. However, center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela provided a spark by tying the game in the sixth inning with a powerful 426-foot two-run home run over the iconic Green Monster. Despite this effort, the game remained tied through nine innings until the Angels managed to score the decisive run in the 10th inning, securing their victory.

The Red Sox are set to conclude their three-game home series against the Angels on Wednesday, desperately aiming to avoid a sweep. Following a day off to regroup, they will travel to the Bronx for a weekend series against the Yankees.
