In a tragic incident that took place over the weekend in Biscayne Bay, a 15-year-old girl lost her life after being struck by a boat. The boater involved in the incident has now been identified as Carlos Guillermo Alonso, a 78-year-old resident of Coral Gables. New details have emerged from a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) incident report regarding the devastating crash that claimed the life of Ella Riley Adler.

The incident report, encompassing just one page, states that Alonso was the sole occupant of his 42-foot Boston Whaler at the time of the accident. Whether or not charges will be filed against Alonso remains uncertain, as the report does not mention this aspect. It is also unclear if alcohol played a role in the crash, as the alcohol-related section of the report is marked as "unknown".

FWC officials have confirmed that Alonso is cooperating with the investigation, ensuring that all necessary information is being provided. The report also reveals that Ella Riley Adler was accompanied by 13 other individuals when the collision occurred. The boat she was on, a 42-foot Hanse Fjord walk-around, was being operated by a 30-year-old man.

According to the report, Adler and another girl were being towed in an area of Biscayne Bay, approximately a mile west of Mashta Point, both engaged in water sports activities - one on a wakeboard and the other on a wake surfboard. Tragedy struck when they fell off at separate times and locations, with Adler remaining in the water when she was struck by the other boat. Shockingly, the boat did not stop after the incident.

Ella Riley Adler, a student at Ransom Everglades School, tragically succumbed to her injuries. No other injuries were reported. FWC officials have revealed that a boat matching the description provided by witnesses in the incident is currently in custody.

FWC Chairman Rodney Barreto expressed his condolences in a statement, saying, "As a father and grandfather, my heart is broken for the Adler family. Ella's death is devastating for her family, friends, and the community at large. The FWC and our partner law enforcement agencies will not stop until we have all the answers and the case is solved."

Furthermore, aerial footage captured by Chopper 6 exhibited the boat docked behind a house in Miami-Dade's Hammock Oaks neighborhood. The boat was subsequently towed from the residence and is currently being brought to the FWC's offices as part of the ongoing investigation.

In response to the potentially significant developments in the case, the Adler family released a statement requesting privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved daughter. They also expressed their gratitude to law enforcement for their dedicated efforts in bringing closure to this truly tragic loss.

As the investigation continues, authorities remain committed to uncovering all the facts surrounding this devastating incident and ensuring justice for Ella Riley Adler's untimely death.
