In a highly anticipated preseason matchup, Denver Broncos' rookie quarterback Bo Nix made his long-awaited debut on Sunday, leaving fans and team officials excited about his potential as a future starter. Nix, the 12th pick in this year's draft, showcased his skills as he battled Jarrett Stidham for the coveted starting position.

Nix, who hadn't played in a football game as a non-starter since eighth grade, entered the game as a replacement for Stidham late in the first quarter. Despite a few early mistakes, the rookie quarterback played well and outperformed Stidham, albeit against players lower on the Indianapolis Colts' defensive depth chart.

Completing an impressive 15 out of 21 passes for 125 yards, Nix led four out of his five drives to end in points, demonstrating both accuracy and decision-making skills. His composed performance on the field suggested that Nix could be a formidable long-term solution to the Broncos' quarterback conundrum.

Meanwhile, the Colts also had their own quarterback situation to watch. Anthony Richardson, returning to action after a season-ending shoulder injury last year, took the field for the Colts. Unfortunately for the Colts fans, Richardson's main objective in the game was to get through it unscathed, as he aims to regain his form from before his injury.

With the regular-season opener against the Seattle Seahawks looming, Nix has positioned himself as a serious contender to start the game. Although Stidham started the preseason opener and had a relatively decent performance, going 4-of-7 for 37 passing yards, he did have an interception that was largely due to a miscue by running back Samaje Perine.

While Stidham remains in the mix and can retain the starting role if he continues to perform well, the general sentiment among fans and experts is that Nix's upside and potential as a rookie starter make him the front-runner for the position.

As the preseason continues, all eyes will be on the Broncos' quarterback battle, eagerly awaiting the coaching staff's decision on who will lead the team into the regular season. For now, Nix's impressive debut has certainly raised the expectations and hopes of both the team and its fans, as they seek a long-awaited solution at the quarterback position.
