As fantasy football drafts approach, certain players have been identified as overvalued by fantasy managers in the current ADP rankings. According to Sleeper's data, there are concerns surrounding the ability of the Houston Texans' wide receiver trio to maintain their high rankings. With all three players - Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs, and Tank Dell - projected within the top 30 at their position, there is a strong possibility of disappointment for at least one of them.

The faith placed in the Texans' wide receivers is understandable given their impressive performances. However, with all three players being drafted within the top 30, there is limited potential for each individual's ceiling. This is particularly concerning for Stefon Diggs, who, despite having a solid year in 2023, enters a new system with the Texans at the age of 30.

Diggs finished as the overall PPR WR9 last season, primarily serving as Josh Allen's go-to target. However, his best games were heavily concentrated during the first half of the season before Joe Brady took over as offensive coordinator. Diggs' performance dropped significantly from PPR WR3 from Weeks 1-10 to PPR WR42 from Week 11 onwards. While the shift in offensive philosophy by the Buffalo Bills played a role in this decline, there is a possibility of a similar drop-off when Diggs is not the primary target in Houston's offense.

Both Nico Collins and Tank Dell have established connections with C.J. Stroud under Bobby Slowik's offense. Additionally, they are closer to their prime than Diggs, who is now entering his thirties. Diggs' receiving grade (79.0) was his lowest since 2019, and his catchable reception rate (89.3%) also dipped during his time with the Bills. Furthermore, his yards per route run (1.89) significantly decreased from last season's mark of 2.40. Diggs' fantasy value primarily stemmed from his high target rate (26.3%), which is likely to be shared with Collins (26.8%) and Dell (23.1) this season. This distribution of targets may hinder Diggs' dominance and make it challenging for him to meet his current ADP expectations, especially considering his age.

With fantasy football drafts underway and ADPs stabilizing throughout August, it's crucial for fantasy managers to approach these overvalued players with caution. By avoiding these potential disappointments, managers can enhance their chances of dominating the fantasy football season.
