The sad news was first confirmed via a Facebook post by Annette Oberlander Willows. She shared, "This is a very tough announcement to make Frank passed away last night around 7:30. He was surrounded by myself, Mike Wolfe (who) made a high-speed dash to get back here from Nashville, and other friends."

Fritz co-hosted American Pickers with his longtime friend Mike Wolfe, beginning their television journey together in 2010. The popular History Channel program has entertained audiences for 25 seasons, focusing on the duo's adventures across the United States in search of rare antiques and collectible items, which they then sold in their stores. Fritz stepped away from the show in 2021 after health issues came to light.

In 2022, Fritz suffered a debilitating stroke. At the time, Wolfe took to Instagram to share his heartfelt concern, writing, "Frank, I pray more than anything that you make it through this okay. I love you buddy." Despite stepping back from the spotlight, Fritz remained a cherished figure in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike.

On Tuesday, Mike Wolfe addressed Fritz's passing in an emotional Instagram post. "It's with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night," Wolfe wrote, captioning a photo of the two. Reflecting on their deep bond, Wolfe shared, "I've known Frank for more than half my life and what you've seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny. The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself." He expressed his gratitude for having been "by his side when he took one last journey home."

Fritz's manager, Bill Stankey, also paid tribute, telling People, "Frank Fritz was an exceptional human being. He loved life, he cared about people, he always had a kind word to say, and he knew more about Americana and antiques than anyone I ever met. He was the anchor of American Pickers. He will be missed by his friends, family, and fans."

As of now, the official cause of Frank Fritz's death has not been disclosed. His passing marks the end of an era for American Pickers, and he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and many who enjoyed his television presence.
