**Liverpool’s Alisson Becker Sidelined with Hamstring Injury; Likely Out for Weeks**

Liverpool's head coach, Arne Slot, has announced that goalkeeper Alisson Becker could miss a significant amount of time due to a suspected hamstring injury. The Brazilian goalkeeper sustained the injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Alisson's injury occurred in the 79th minute while he was clearing the ball. Subsequently, he was substituted by Vitezslav Jaros since second-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was unavailable due to illness. While expressing his concerns, Slot anticipates that Alisson will be absent not only for Liverpool's upcoming Premier League match against Chelsea but also for Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Peru.

"We don’t have all the details yet, but usually when a player has to come off in that manner, it means he won't be available for the national team or our next game," Slot commented to reporters. "We expect him to be out for a few weeks, and we believe it’s a hamstring issue."

Liverpool’s next fixture is scheduled for October 20 against Chelsea, following the international break. This match kicks off a congested period where the team will face formidable opponents such as RB Leipzig, Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bayer Leverkusen, and Aston Villa within three weeks.

Slot admitted, "Playing Arsenal away is always challenging, but now it's crucial for us to prove ourselves in big games. Without Alisson, given how he left the pitch, it’s a setback. However, it was good to see Jaros stepping in effectively, especially with Kelleher unavailable due to illness."

Praising Jaros, Slot added, "He performed really well. After a successful season in Austria, we trusted him to step up. Though he wanted more playing time, we emphasized the importance of having a reliable third goalkeeper in a club like ours. His debut today reaffirmed our decision."

Acknowledging Alisson’s role, Slot stated, "Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world, and his absence is a massive blow. However, it's reassuring that our second and third choices, Kelleher and Jaros, have proven their capabilities."

Additional concerns arose as midfielder Alexis MacAllister was forced off with a groin injury, being replaced by Dominik Szoboszlai at half-time. Slot indicated that the extent of MacAllister’s injury is still uncertain. "He felt it was not sensible to continue playing to avoid worsening the issue. Whether he can participate in Argentina's matches remains to be seen," he said.

Liverpool resumes action on October 20, with a crucial home match against Chelsea in the Premier League.
