Adele has announced the postponement of all next month's Las Vegas residency shows after falling ill, leaving fans disappointed. The British singer revealed on social media that doctors have advised her to rest, although she did not disclose the specifics of her illness. This setback comes just over five months before her upcoming 10-night stadium shows in Munich, scheduled for August. Adele expressed her regret in a statement, stating, "Sadly, I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency."
The singer's health issues began at the end of her previous run of shows last year at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in early November. The residency was intended to have a break over the festive season, but Adele struggled to fully recuperate before performances resumed on January 19. Since then, she has performed 12 shows as part of her residency contract, which is set to continue until June.
The new dates for the 10 postponed Las Vegas shows are yet to be disclosed, but ticket-holders can expect to receive updates soon. Adele's residency was initially planned to commence in January 2022 but was delayed until March that year. The singer cited COVID-19 among her team members as a reason for the delay, expressing disappointment at the time.
Looking ahead, Adele recently announced four concerts scheduled to take place in a specially-built stadium in Munich in August, with an additional six shows confirmed. These concerts mark her first performances in mainland Europe since 2016 and are eagerly anticipated by fans. Adele expressed her excitement for the upcoming shows on social media, describing them as a fitting end to a significant phase of her career.
