In a recent development stemming from his conviction for misdemeanor reckless assault and harassment, actor Jonathan Majors is now facing a lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Jabbari claims that she had alerted Majors' management team about the alleged abuse she suffered in 2021. The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in a New York federal court, includes claims for battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation.

According to the lawsuit, Jabbari accuses Majors of subjecting her to a pervasive pattern of domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended until 2023. Several instances of alleged physical violence are detailed in the lawsuit, with Jabbari providing specific accounts of the abuse she claims to have endured.

One incident described in the suit occurred in September 2022 when Majors allegedly pushed Jabbari forcefully, causing bruises, threw her against the hood of her car, and proceeded to choke her while hitting her head against the marble floor. Jabbari states that she wanted to seek medical treatment for her injuries but was dissuaded by Majors, who allegedly warned her about potential consequences.

The lawsuit also alleges that the abuse escalated in August 2022 after the couple moved in together in London. Jabbari claims that Majors verbally assaulted her, chased her around their home, and cornered her on the bed, raising his fist as she cowered in fear. However, Majors did not physically strike her on this occasion and eventually left the property while Jabbari locked herself in a bedroom for safety.

Jabbari further asserts that she disclosed the abuse to Majors' management team in January 2023, to which he reacted with anger and allegedly physically assaulted her again. The lawsuit also addresses Majors' alleged behavior after the incidents, including threats of suicide to prevent Jabbari from seeking medical help or reporting the violence to authorities.

The lawsuit reveals that Majors embarked on a media tour following his arrest, attempting to undermine the jury verdict and proclaiming his innocence. In an exclusive interview with ABC News, Majors claimed that Jabbari lied about the abuse and stated that he had never laid his hands on a woman.

Alongside claims of defamation, the lawsuit includes a charge of malicious prosecution, asserting that Majors urged prosecutors to pursue proceedings against Jabbari, leading to speculations about her potential arrest. The suit characterizes this move as an attempt to discredit Jabbari before the trial.

The civil suit follows Majors' conviction in December for reckless assault and harassment in a case unrelated to Jabbari's lawsuit. The charges stemmed from an incident on March 25, 2023, where Jabbari testified that Majors injured her during an altercation over a text message suggesting infidelity.

Jonathan Majors' attorney has not yet responded to the new lawsuit, which seeks a minimum of $75,000 in damages, with the addition of punitive damages. The actor's sentencing for the criminal case has been postponed until April 8, as the prosecution and the judge consider the defense's motion to set aside the verdict. If sentenced, Majors could face up to one year in prison.

This lawsuit brings to light the serious allegations of domestic abuse made against actor Jonathan Majors and emphasizes the importance of addressing such matters with the utmost gravity and care.
