### Rodgers Sets the Record Straight on Critical Interception, Puts Responsibility on Everyone

In the wake of the Jets' loss to the Bills on Monday night, quarterback Aaron Rodgers pointed to a misstep by Mike Williams as the cause of a pivotal late-game interception. On Tuesday, Rodgers maintained his position, asserting that accountability is paramount, whether it's Williams or himself under scrutiny.

Rodgers addressed the situation during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, where he clarified his comments about Williams. He explained that his critique was merely an honest response to what transpired on a crucial play in the fourth quarter. “I think if you watch my press conferences, I've started with myself when I've made mistakes,” Rodgers explained. "That's the standard for everybody."

Expounding on the play in question, Rodgers detailed the miscommunication: "It was two verticals to the right side and Mike needed to get to the red line, which would have been a big gain." He emphasized that his comments were not intended to single out Williams beyond the context of the play's breakdown. "I have a lot of love and respect for Mike. He does some nice things for us. On that play he wasn't in the right spot. You can make more of that if you want to, but we all should be held to a standard."

Rodgers also highlighted that accountability starts with him and hopes it sets an example for the team. "I hold myself to a standard of greatness and when it hasn't been there - which it hasn't been at certain times - I've stood up and said, 'I've got to play better. I wasn't good enough tonight.'"

As the Jets consider moving on from Williams, Rodgers may soon have one less concern about route running inconsistencies. Nevertheless, his call for collective responsibility remains clear: every player, including himself, must meet high standards to achieve success.
