In a tragic incident that occurred on Sunday night, a 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder for the stabbing of twin sisters outside a deli in Brooklyn, according to the New York Police Department. The suspect, whose identity has been revealed as Kelly, allegedly stabbed 19-year-old Samyia Spain in the chest after she rejected his advances.

Samyia Spain, a resident of Park Slope, tragically lost her life in the attack. Her sister, Sanyia Spain, was also injured, suffering a stab wound to the arm. She was rushed to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition.

Kelly has been charged with murder, assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon. According to witness accounts, the incident unfolded when Kelly became aggressive towards the sisters, attempting to obtain their contact information. When his advances were rejected, the situation escalated from verbal to physical, resulting in the stabbing.

Remembered as a vibrant and promising young woman, Samyia Spain's family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her memorial. Described as bright-eyed, loving, caring, and kind, Samyia was known as the life of the party and was regarded as a future star and leader.

Mohammed Albhar, an employee at the deli where the tragic event unfolded, spoke about his personal connection with the Spain sisters. Although he was not present during the incident, Albhar learned about it from his colleagues at Slope Natural Plus the following day. Albhar expressed shock at the news, mentioning that he had watched the girls grow up and was familiar with their family.

Albhar recounted that the sisters sought refuge inside the deli as the assailant yelled at them and kicked the store's door from outside. Tragically, as they exited the deli, Kelly attacked them with a knife.

Since the incident, community members have shown their support by leaving cards and checking in with the deli's employees, including Albhar. Having worked at the establishment for 16 years, Albhar expressed his appreciation for the outpouring of love and compassion.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Samyia Spain, while hoping for a swift and fair resolution in bringing her assailant to justice.
