Iconic pop star Madonna is facing a lawsuit filed by two New York City residents who claim that she repeatedly failed to start her concerts on time, despite promises in flyers and promotional materials. Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden have accused Madonna, as well as the Barclays Center and Live Nation, of engaging in unfair trade practices. The lawsuit was filed in Brooklyn federal court on Wednesday.

According to the complaint, Madonna's three "Celebration" concerts in New York in December were advertised to begin at 8:30 p.m., but consistently started at least two hours later. The plaintiffs argue that this delay constitutes a breach of contract.

The lawsuit highlights Madonna's past record of tardiness, referencing her previous tours including the 2016 Rebel Heart Tour and the 2019-2020 Madame X Tour, where the singer frequently started her concerts over two hours late. The complaint alleges that the defendants were aware of Madonna's difficulty in ensuring timely performances, suggesting that any statement regarding a start time for a show should have been considered optimistic speculation at best.

In addition to breach of contract, the lawsuit also accuses Madonna, the Barclays Center, and Live Nation of false advertising and negligent misrepresentation. The plaintiffs claim that the defendants' actions demonstrate a wanton disregard for their contracts and an unfair practice of luring fans under false pretenses.

Neither Madonna nor Live Nation has responded to requests for comment at the time of writing. The lawsuit seeks class-action status, highlighting the number of fans potentially affected by the alleged delays.

Madonna's current concert run, which had been rescheduled from last July due to her hospitalization for a bacterial infection, is expected to conclude on April 15 in Texas. The lawsuit, however, raises concerns about the singer's ability to start her shows on time and calls into question the reliability of the advertised concert start times.

As the legal proceedings unfold, fans eagerly await updates on this lawsuit, which could potentially impact how artists and concert venues handle scheduling and time management in the future.
