Officials in Rio de Janeiro have initiated an investigation into the Brazilian entertainment company, Time4Fun, after a fan tragically passed away during a Taylor Swift concert. The probe, reported by NBC News, is not directly related to the death of Ana Clara Benevides, who suffered cardiac arrest due to the sweltering temperatures during the show.

Time4Fun, the organizers behind the Eras Tour concerts in Brazil, issued a statement on their website expressing condolences and emphasizing the importance of consumer and employee safety. They apologized to fans who had a suboptimal experience and expressed devastation over Benevides' loss. The company has also offered to assist the family in any way necessary, following the instructions of the family's attorney.

CEO Serafim Abreu released a video message on the company's Instagram account, acknowledging their responsibility to ensure the comfort and safety of all attendees. The organizers came under fire for not allowing concertgoers to bring water bottles into the stadium despite extreme heat. The temperatures on the day of the concert reached 43.8 degrees Celsius, with the heat index making it feel like 59.7 degrees Celsius, close to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.

Benevides' father, Weiny Machado, expressed his pain and called for an investigation into possible negligence in providing assistance and prohibiting water for attendees. In response to the backlash, Time4Fun announced amended policies for future concerts, allowing entry with sealed glasses of water and sealed processed food.

Despite the tragic incident, Taylor Swift, who expressed a "shattered heart" following Benevides' death, is set to continue her tour in Brazil. She has three more concerts scheduled in São Paulo from Friday to Sunday.

The investigation into Time4Fun's organization and safety protocols will continue as authorities work to determine the cause of Ana Clara Benevides' untimely passing.
