ICARO Media Group
In coordination with Sofia Produce, LLC Dba Trufresh, CF Dallas, LLC has announced a voluntary recall of select fresh-cut fruit products. This recall is being undertaken as a precautionary measure due to the potential contamination of Salmonella, as per a previously announced product recall initiated by Sofia Produce, LLC.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has posted the company's announcement as a public service, emphasizing that their endorsement does not extend to the product or the company itself.
The recall specifically applies to CF Dallas fresh-cut fruit products that were made from whole cantaloupes sourced from the previously recalled batch by Sofia Produce, LLC. It is important to note that all CF Dallas fresh-cut fruit products associated with the recalled whole cantaloupe have expired.
Nevertheless, consumers who may have purchased these items and subsequently froze them for later use are strongly advised not to consume the products and to dispose of them immediately. Alternatively, they can opt to return the items to their local store for a full refund.
To date, no illnesses related to CF Dallas fresh-cut products have been reported. However, as a precautionary measure, the company is urging affected individuals to take the necessary steps outlined above.
The affected fresh-cut fruit products, which contain the recalled cantaloupe, were distributed to select retail stores across ten states, including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Illinois, Texas, and Louisiana. These products are typically packaged in clear square or round plastic containers, and customers can identify them by looking for the lot code and "best by" date on the label.
Consumers who have purchased any of the affected fresh-cut fruit products should exercise caution and follow the recommended instructions to ensure their safety.
CF Dallas, LLC advises customers with any questions or concerns regarding the recall to contact their customer service team for further assistance.
As always, it is important to prioritize consumer safety, and recalls such as these serve as a reminder to remain vigilant and informed about potential hazards that may arise in food products.
