Welsh rugby player Louis Rees-Zammit has made a bold announcement, revealing his intentions to leave the world of rugby behind and embark on a new career in the National Football League (NFL). The 22-year-old winger, formerly representing the British and Irish Lions, aims to make his mark as one of the fastest players in the NFL.

Rees-Zammit, known for his impressive speed, reached a staggering top speed of 24.2 mph during a rugby game. This places him ahead of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who recorded a speed of 23.24 mph during a kickoff return back in 2016. Rees-Zammit could potentially dethrone the nicknamed "Cheetah" for in-game speed if he manages to replicate his top speed in the NFL.

The current NFL season saw Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf achieve the fastest speed at 22.23 mph in Week 13, coming close to Tyreek Hill's 2016 record. Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown followed closely with a speed of 22.05 mph in Week 14.

However, before Rees-Zammit can challenge these NFL stars, he must earn a spot on an NFL roster. In pursuit of this goal, he has accepted an invitation to join the NFL's international player pathway.
