In the latest NBA trade rumors, the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks have emerged as potential trade partners, with Andrew Wiggins being in the center of discussions, league sources have revealed.

The Warriors, aware of Stephen Curry's immense talent, understand the need to strengthen their supporting cast in order to compete at the highest level. Although talks with the Toronto Raptors for Pascal Siakam did take place, concerns about fit and Siakam's impending free agency ultimately deterred any potential deal.

As trade options unfolded, the Mavericks became interested in acquiring Wiggins, who had previously served as the second fiddle to Curry during the Warriors' championship run. The Mavericks, alongside the Milwaukee Bucks, have shown interest in the 27-year-old forward. However, the Bucks would need to package Bobby Portis to match Wiggins' $24.3 million salary, a move they are reluctant to make.

Additionally, the Mavericks have been exploring frontcourt options with shooting ability and defensive skills. Players such as Jerami Grant, PJ Washington, Isaiah Stewart, and Wendell Carter Jr. have all been mentioned as potential targets. However, Portland has indicated that Grant and Malcolm Brogdon are not on the trade block, while Orlando is not looking to move Carter.

With regards to the Bucks, they are actively seeking defensive upgrades, particularly on the perimeter. Dorian Finney-Smith has caught the attention of the Bucks, as his $13.3 million salary would not require parting with Portis. Unfortunately, the Bucks lack the desired first-round draft capital that the Brooklyn Nets are seeking in exchange for their swingman.

Multiple teams, including the Bucks and the Philadelphia 76ers, have engaged in discussions with teams like the New Orleans Pelicans and the Oklahoma City Thunder, attempting to trade future first-round pick swaps or packages of second-round picks to acquire extra first-round selections. The Sixers, who are looking to bolster their roster for immediate success, have their sights set on Pacers guard Buddy Hield and Pistons guard Bojan Bogdanović.

As the NBA trade deadline approaches, teams are actively exploring various options to improve their rosters. The Boston Celtics, currently atop the Eastern Conference, are looking to deepen their bench. Their $6.25 million traded-player exception provides an opportunity to target veterans like Otto Porter Jr. and Lonnie Walker, who has garnered significant interest from playoff teams with his solid performances on a minimum contract.

While trade discussions continue to unfold, teams are carefully weighing their options to strike the right balance between immediate success and future flexibility. As rumors circulate and talks progress, the NBA landscape is poised for potential blockbuster trades that could reshape the playoff race.
