In an exciting turn of events, the US Men's National Team (USMNT) is set to showcase the talents of seven debutants in their match against Slovenia. With the potential for more players to make their debut before the end of the game, the USMNT is poised to break their record of 12 debutants in a single match, which was set back in 1973 and 1988.

Among the debutants is midfielder Timmy Tillman, who joins his younger brother Malik in representing the USMNT. The Tillmans make history as the 10th set of brothers to appear for the team. Alongside these fresh faces, veteran defender Miles Robinson takes on the responsibility of captaincy for the first time under Gregg Berhalter's leadership.

The lineup for today's match features players from nine different clubs, with reigning MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew leading the way with three starters. Seattle Sounders, New England, FC Dallas, Real Salt Lake, Nashville SC, Atlanta United, LAFC, and Vancouver Whitecaps are also represented in today's lineup.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting the performance of right back Shaq Moore, who earns his first cap since the FIFA World Cup group stage finale in November 2022. Midfielder Aidan Morris also returns to the field after his last appearance during the Gold Cup group stage in June 2023. Additionally, defender DeJuan Jones makes his comeback since the match against Oman in September of the same year.

The US team boasts a strong Development Academy presence, with eight starters having come through U.S. Soccer's Development Academy. Five of these players were developed by MLS clubs, showcasing the positive impact of the league's youth development programs.

Under the guidance of coach Gregg Berhalter, the USMNT has achieved an impressive record of 41 wins, 13 draws, and 12 losses in 66 matches. However, their previous encounters with Slovenia have proven challenging, with the team holding a record of 0 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss against them. The two teams first met during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, where the USA managed a remarkable comeback from a 2-0 halftime deficit to secure a 2-2 draw. In their friendly match the following year, the USMNT emerged victorious with a 3-2 win in Ljubljana.

Adding to the anticipation of the match, Luc Lauziere of Canada will officiate the game, marking his first time officiating a USMNT match. With a blend of experienced players and debutants, the USA will be looking to make their mark in this much-anticipated matchup against Slovenia.
