Rumors began to circulate after Waltman was spotted at the WWE Performance Centre in Orlando. This sighting sparked speculation that he could be gearing up for a comeback after his 22-year absence from WWE matches. The fan-favorite wrestler was elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019 as a member of D-Generation X and again in 2020 as part of the New World Order.

However, despite the growing buzz surrounding his return, Waltman has taken to social media to dismiss the rumors. He made it clear that there is "zero chance" of him featuring in the Royal Rumble. Waltman jokingly stated that he still has the physical ability to perform in the ring, but he would need some time to train before he could perform his signature moves again.

Alongside Waltman, two former world champions have also been rumored to make their returns at the Royal Rumble. Liv Morgan, who has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury since July, is expected to make her comeback. The 29-year-old wrestler gained widespread recognition after winning the women's Money in the Bank match in 2022 and subsequently claiming the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Additionally, Naomi, a former SmackDown Women's Champion and Tag Team champion, might also make her long-awaited return. Naomi has been absent from the WWE since May 2022, following creative differences with the promotion. She has since appeared in Impact/TNA Wrestling under the name Trinity.
