In an exhilarating matchup on Sunday, the Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud etched his name in NFL history, propelling his team to a groundbreaking victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Not only did the Texans secure a thrilling win, but they also became a part of NFL history by ending the game with a final score that had never been witnessed before.

With less than a minute remaining in the game, the Buccaneers held a narrow 33-30 lead, seemingly on their way to victory. However, the determined Stroud took charge, orchestrating an astounding 75-yard drive in a mere 40 seconds. The drive culminated in a 15-yard touchdown pass to Tank Dell with just six seconds remaining on the clock.

The Texans' last-second touchdown propelled them to a remarkable 39-37 triumph, a final score that had never been recorded in NFL history until that momentous day. The achievement did not go unnoticed, with the official NFL Scorigami twitter account highlighting that it was the 1,080th unique final score in the league's history.

Stroud's stellar performance further solidified his place in NFL lore. The rookie quarterback not only threw for an impressive 470 yards during the game but also set a new NFL record for the most passing yards by a rookie in a single game. Additionally, Stroud joined an elite group by becoming only the third player in NFL history to throw for at least 470 yards and five touchdowns without any interceptions.

One peculiar aspect of the game's final score arose due to the Texans playing the second half without a kicker. Despite this challenge, the Texans managed to score four touchdowns in the second half, requiring them to go for two-point conversions each time (successfully converting only one). Running back Dare Ogunbowale did aid the Texans' cause by expertly nailing a 29-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, ultimately contributing to the unique 39-37 scoreline.

Curiously, both the Buccaneers and the Texans had already been involved in scorigamis earlier in the 2023 season. The Buccaneers succumbed to a scorigami during their Week 3 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, with a game that ended 25-11. Meanwhile, the Texans were also part of a scorigami in Week 1, suffering a 25-9 defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens.

The 2023 NFL season has remarkably already delivered five scorigamis within its first nine weeks, surpassing the total number of scorigamis recorded during the entirety of the 2022 season.

As the Texans celebrate their historic win and Stroud's exceptional performance, NFL fans eagerly await what other records and unique events the remainder of the season will bring.
