Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith has been sidelined for the team's second straight practice due to a knee injury sustained during their game against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night. The 25-year-old has been remarkably durable throughout his three-year NFL career, having played in all 48 regular season games and all four postseason games.

Smith's absence from practice raises concerns about his availability for the Eagles' upcoming Christmas Day game. If he is unable to play, the receiving corps for that game will consist of A.J. Brown, Quez Watkins, Julio Jones, Olamide Zaccheaus, and Britain Covey. However, given Smith's reputation for toughness, his potential return to practice on Saturday remains uncertain.

So far this season, Smith has showcased his skills with an impressive stat line of 74 catches, 957 receiving yards, and 6 touchdowns. His absence from the field would undoubtedly be a blow to the Eagles' offensive firepower.

In addition to Smith, four other Eagles players were unable to practice for the second consecutive day. Cornerback Darius Slay, left guard Landon Dickerson, linebacker Zach Cunningham, and linebacker Nicholas Morrow all missed Friday's practice due to various injuries. However, both center Cam Jurgens and cornerback Avonte Maddox, who were listed as full participants on Thursday, returned to practice after overcoming pectoral muscle ailments.

Eagles fans have already been informed that Slay and Dickerson will be out for this upcoming game, as they are currently recovering from surgeries. Although their return is expected in the coming weeks, neither player has been placed on injured reserve.

The team and fans eagerly await updates on Smith's condition and his availability for the Christmas Day match. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the beloved Philadelphia sports teams by signing up for our All Access Daily newsletter.
