The Philadelphia Eagles will be missing their head of security, Dom DiSandro, on the sidelines during their highly anticipated Sunday night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. DiSandro, affectionately known as "Big Dom" within the Philly community, will still be traveling with the team to Dallas but will not be present on the sidelines, as reported by ESPN.

DiSandro's absence from the game stems from an altercation he had with San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw during Week 13. This incident occurred when Greenlaw suplexed Eagles' wide receiver DeVonta Smith out of bounds, resulting in a flag for unnecessary roughness.

In an attempt to intervene, DiSandro stepped in front of Greenlaw, but the linebacker inadvertently made contact with DiSandro's face. As a result, both Greenlaw and DiSandro were ejected from the game. The NFL is currently reviewing additional footage to determine if any further discipline is warranted, according to ESPN.

Several days after the altercation, Greenlaw expressed remorse and revealed that both he and DiSandro had exchanged formal apologies through intermediaries. Greenlaw acknowledged DiSandro as a genuine and well-liked figure within the organization, expressing his disappointment that the situation escalated to that extent.

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan also expressed understanding towards DiSandro's actions and stated that he held no hard feelings towards him. Shanahan emphasized that DiSandro was caught in a difficult and emotional situation, and he couldn't believe that they lost their player due to this incident, as reported by CBS Sports.

With the Eagles set to face off against the Cowboys on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET, the absence of Dom DiSandro on the sidelines will be noticeable. However, it remains to be seen how this will impact the team's security operations and if any further actions will be taken by the NFL regarding the altercation.

In the meantime, the Eagles will have to focus on their matchup against their NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys, as they vie for a crucial victory in their quest for a playoff spot.
