Ohio State University has bolstered their quarterback room with the addition of Carson Sayin, a five-star quarterback prospect from Alabama. Sayin becomes the second highly-rated quarterback to join the Buckeyes in their 2024 class, following Air Noland who signed in December.

Sayin's decision to transfer to Ohio State comes after the recent departures of Seth McLaughlin and Caleb Downs, two former Crimson Tide players who also made the move to OSU. Set to join a spring and preseason quarterback competition, Sayin will be vying for playing time alongside Devin Brown, Will Howard, and Lincoln Kienholz.

Initially, Ohio State had attempted to flip Sayin from his commitment to Alabama, but when their efforts were unsuccessful, they turned their attention to Noland. Despite being slightly smaller than the prototypical quarterback preferred by head coach Ryan Day, Sayin is known for his strong arm, high football intelligence, and underrated athleticism and agility.

The 6-1, 195-pound quarterback impressed scouts last year when he was named the MVP of the Elite 11 scouting showcase. Hailing from Carlsbad, California, Sayin joins a lineage of talented quarterbacks at Ohio State, known for their passing abilities combined with mobility.

With the addition of Sayin, Ohio State's quarterback room gains a strong contender for the future. Sayin's skills could potentially challenge Noland for the starting position, while also pushing Howard to excel and potentially earn the starting spot on opening day.

Ohio State's quarterback competition is set to intensify with the arrival of Sayin, as the Buckeyes continue to build a talented and competitive roster for the upcoming seasons.
