In a big win for the Ohio State Buckeyes, they have secured the commitment of highly touted offensive tackle Carter Lowe for their 2025 class. The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Lowe, a native of Toledo, Ohio, is ranked among the top-10 offensive tackles in the 2025 class.

Lowe's commitment marks a significant addition for Ohio State's offensive line, becoming their first offensive line commitment in the 2025 class. He joins quarterback Tavien St. Clair and linebacker Eli Lee as the third in-state prospect to commit to the Buckeyes so far.

The Buckeyes were considered the front-runners for Lowe's commitment after he made several visits to the campus throughout the fall. Notably, he attended games against Western Kentucky, Maryland, and Penn State. In addition, head coach Ryan Day and coach Justin Frye personally visited Lowe at Whitmer High School the day before he made his commitment.

Despite not growing up as a Buckeyes fan, Lowe expressed his admiration for both Ohio State and their traditional rivals, the Michigan Wolverines. However, Ohio State's successful track record in developing offensive linemen and the strong rapport he built with Coach Frye ultimately tilted the scales in their favor.

Speaking about his relationship with Coach Frye, Lowe mentioned the frequent communication and the coach's genuine interest in his success. He expressed appreciation for Frye's dedication and the level of care he showed towards his players.

Lowe's commitment brings the total number of Ohio State's 2025 class to seven, with five of them ranking among the top-100 prospects in the 247Sports' composite rankings. Along with Lowe, the Buckeyes have secured commitments from Devin Sanchez, Tavien St. Clair, Zahir Mathis, and Blake Woodby.

However, the Buckeyes' efforts in recruiting offensive tackles do not end with Lowe. They have also expressed heavy interest in several other highly regarded prospects, including David Sanders Jr., Josh Petty, Michael Fasusi, Micah DeBose, Douglas Utu, Lamont Rogers, Avery Gach, Mason Short, and Matty Augustine.

Ohio State's ability to attract top talent in their 2025 class, especially in crucial positions like offensive tackle, showcases their commitment to building a strong and competitive team for the future. The addition of Carter Lowe is a significant step towards that goal, and the Buckeyes will continue their pursuit of top prospects to further bolster their offensive line.
