Ohio State star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has officially declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. The announcement comes as no surprise, following his absence in Ohio State's Cotton Bowl loss to Missouri.

Harrison, a Heisman finalist, had an impressive season in 2023, recording 67 catches for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown on the ground. Although he finished fourth in the Heisman voting, he was recognized as the top non-quarterback in the ballot, trailing behind LSU QB Jayden Daniels, Washington QB Michael Penix Jr., and Oregon QB Bo Nix.

At 6-3 and 200 pounds, Harrison possesses exceptional route-running abilities and a rare combination of size and speed. He is highly projected to be a top-five pick in the draft and has the potential to be the best overall player selected.

Harrison, the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame member Marvin Harrison, gained prominence during his sophomore season in 2022, where he tallied 77 catches for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns over 13 games.

It is anticipated that Harrison may be selected within the top three picks alongside USC QB Caleb Williams and North Carolina QB Drake Maye. With his talent and skill set, he is expected to make an immediate impact as a No. 1 receiver in the NFL.

Ohio State has seen a surge of success in its wide receivers, with three players selected in the first round over the past two drafts. Garrett Wilson joined the New York Jets, Chris Olave was picked by the New Orleans Saints in the 2022 NFL Draft, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba became a first-round selection for the Seattle Seahawks in 2023.

During the 2023 season, Harrison consistently showcased his abilities, exceeding 100 receiving yards in eight out of 12 games. He also scored at least one touchdown in each of his final eight games at Ohio State. Notably, he accumulated 11 catches for 162 yards and a score in the game against Penn State, and had five catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in Ohio State's loss to Michigan to conclude the season.

While Harrison moves on to the NFL, Ohio State received some positive news as Emeka Egbuka announced his return for the 2024 season. Egbuka, who had an impressive season with 41 catches for 515 yards and four touchdowns in 2023, will continue to be an integral part of the Ohio State offense. Additionally, Ohio State recently added former Kansas State QB Will Howard and former Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins through the transfer portal, further strengthening their offensive capabilities.

With his decision to enter the 2024 NFL Draft, Marvin Harrison Jr. sets his sights on the next chapter of his football career, where he is poised to leave a remarkable impact at the professional level.
