Facebook founder and Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has been dealt a major setback in his quest to compete in a competitive MMA fight after suffering an ACL injury during sparring. The injury has forced Zuckerberg to undergo surgery to replace the torn ligament, putting his fight plans on hold.

Zuckerberg's desire to step into the MMA cage has been widely discussed in recent months, particularly after engaging in a back-and-forth challenge with Tesla CEO, Elon Musk. The rival billionaires had agreed to face each other in an MMA fight, but talks between them failed to materialize into a formal bout.

Despite the lapse in negotiations with Musk, Zuckerberg remained focused on his training and had been preparing for a competitive fight early next year. However, his plans have now been delayed due to the ACL injury.

Taking to his Instagram account, Zuckerberg revealed the news of his injury and surgery on Friday night. "Tore my ACL sparring and just got out of surgery to replace it," he stated. While acknowledging the setback, he expressed his determination to return to training and fulfill his aspirations of stepping into the MMA arena once he has recovered.

The ACL injury is expected to require a considerable amount of time for rehabilitation, postponing Zuckerberg's competitive fight plans until further notice. However, despite this setback, the entrepreneur remains determined to pursue his passion for MMA and is looking forward to getting back into the cage when he is fully healed.

Zuckerberg's announcement drew attention from prominent UFC stars, Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya, who left comments on his Instagram post. Their messages were filled with well-wishes for Zuckerberg's recovery and encouragement for his future endeavors in the world of MMA.

As the Meta CEO embarks on his rehabilitation journey, supporters and fans eagerly await his return to full fitness and the realization of his MMA aspirations. Despite the delay, Zuckerberg's determination remains unwavering, ensuring that his competitive MMA fight will be a highly anticipated event once he fully recovers from his ACL injury.
