Kansas maintained its position atop The Associated Press Top 25 men's college basketball poll, while Miami made an impressive leap to secure its highest ranking in years, according to the latest rankings released on Monday.

The Jayhawks (3-0) showcased their resilience by staging a comeback against Kentucky in last week's Champions Classic. Led by the outstanding performance of transfer big man Hunter Dickinson, Kansas rallied from a 14-point deficit to secure a thrilling victory. This impressive display earned them an additional first-place vote from last week's poll, as they claimed the top spot on 52 out of 61 ballots.

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes (5-0) made the only significant change in the top tier of the poll by climbing two spots to claim the No. 10 spot. Miami's rise came after their triumph over Kansas State in the Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship. This marks the first time since the 2017-18 season that the Hurricanes have broken into the top 10.

Replacing Florida Atlantic in the rankings, Miami took advantage of their downfall. Florida Atlantic, which had opened the year at No. 10 following their Final Four run last season, stumbled nine spots to land at No. 19 after suffering a home loss to Bryant.

With Thanksgiving holiday tournaments on the horizon, there is the potential for further movement in the rankings. The highly anticipated Maui Invitational will feature five teams from the top 11, including Kansas, No. 2 Purdue, No. 4 Marquette, No. 7 Tennessee, and No. 11 Gonzaga. It promises to be an intense battle among these powerhouses.

In the current rankings, Arizona secured the No. 3 position, while reigning NCAA champion Connecticut Huskies claimed No. 5. Other top-ranked teams include No. 6 Houston, No. 7 Tennessee, Creighton at No. 8, No. 9 Duke, and the aforementioned No. 10 Miami.

Notable movers in the poll include Colorado, who made a significant jump of seven spots to claim No. 18, marking their first appearance in the rankings since the conclusion of the 2020-2021 season. North Carolina followed suit by climbing six spots to secure No. 14. Additionally, Alabama jumped five spots to claim No. 17, and Texas advanced four spots to land at No. 15.

Several teams experienced significant drops in the poll. USC fell seven spots to No. 23 after a home loss to UC Irvine, while Arkansas tumbled six spots to No. 20 following their defeat against UNC Greensboro on home turf. Michigan State also suffered a setback, sliding three spots to No. 21 after a loss to Duke in the Champions Classic. However, the Spartans managed to bounce back with convincing wins against Butler and Alcorn State.

In total, nine teams moved up from their previous positions in last week's poll, while 10 teams maintained their rankings. Villanova (No. 21) and Illinois (No. 23) dropped out of the poll to make room for newcomers Virginia (No. 24) and Mississippi State (No. 25), with the Bulldogs returning to the rankings for the first time since the 2018-2019 season.

With six ranked teams, the Southeastern Conference led the way, followed by the Atlantic Coast and Big 12 conferences with four each. The Pac-12 and Big East conferences each had three ranked teams, while the Big Ten had two. The American Athletic Conference, Sun Belt, and West Coast Conference rounded out the field with one team each.
