The Kansas City Chiefs are heading into Super Bowl LIX against the San Francisco 49ers with some major injury concerns. Guard Joe Thuney, a First-team All-Pro, has been ruled out for the big game due to a pectoral injury. Thuney had already missed the AFC Championship Game and his absence in the Super Bowl is a blow to the Chiefs' offensive line.

In Thuney's absence, Nick Allegretti, who has mostly played on special teams, is expected to start for the second consecutive game. Allegretti will have to step up and fill the shoes of the talented Thuney.

Wide receiver Kadarius Toney has also been dealing with an injury. He missed the last six games due to a hip injury, compounded by personal reasons. Toney and his girlfriend welcomed their first child the night before the AFC Championship Game, which led to his absence. However, Toney has generated controversy with his Instagram post, claiming that he was not actually injured. Head coach Andy Reid has clarified that Toney's injury was indeed real and not made up. Interestingly, Toney's name has not appeared on the injury report this week.

On a positive note, the Chiefs will have wide receiver Skyy Moore back in action. Moore had missed the past six games due to a knee injury but has been a full participant in practice all week. His contribution will be valuable to the Chiefs' offense.

Another wide receiver, Rashee Rice, was added to the injury report during the week with an ankle injury. However, he participated fully in practice on Friday, and his status for the Super Bowl remains undetermined.

Running back Jerick McKinnon is listed as questionable with a groin injury, while offensive lineman Prince Tega Wanogho has been ruled out as he continues to recover from an injury sustained in Week 3 of the season.

Despite the injury concerns, the Chiefs will have some key players ready to go. Defensive end Chris Jones, running back Isiah Pacheco, and cornerback L'Jarius Sneed were listed on the injury report but have been full participants in practice and are expected to play.

On the defensive side, the Chiefs suffered a major blow when defensive lineman Charles Omenihu tore his ACL in the AFC Championship Game. Omenihu, who had an impressive season with seven sacks, has been placed on injured reserve, ending his Super Bowl hopes.

With several injuries impacting the team, the Chiefs' projected starting lineup for Super Bowl LIX includes receiver Justin Watson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and potentially Rashee Rice. Tight end Travis Kelce will be a key target, while the offensive line will feature Allegretti as a replacement for Thuney.

The Chiefs face a formidable challenge against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIX. Overcoming the key injuries will require the remaining players to step up and deliver their best performance on the biggest stage in football.
