In a heartfelt ceremony on Saturday, legendary head coach Jimmy Johnson was inducted into the Dallas Cowboys' Ring of Honor, marking the end of years of tension between him and team owner Jerry Jones. This momentous occasion comes approximately 30 years after Johnson led the Cowboys to a Super Bowl championship before parting ways with the organization.

The emotional event took place at AT&T Stadium, where Johnson's name was officially unveiled alongside the names of other greats who have graced the Cowboys organization. Johnson, appearing on "FOX NFL Sunday," struggled to hold back tears as he spoke about the honor.

Reflecting on the significance of his induction, Johnson shared, "I guess you can say it's kind of a final chapter because you go into the College and the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Ring of Honor, the University of Miami Ring of Honor, Dallas Cowboys, but what made it so special was the whole journey and last night - I had my family there, my best friends there, and my players and my coaches…"

Supportive colleagues Michael Strahan and Terry Bradshaw offered comfort to Johnson as he fought back tears during his speech. The former Miami Hurricanes coach also received a visit from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who presented him with his letter of intent and expressed how influential Johnson had been in his life.

By joining Tom Landry as the only coaches in the exclusive Cowboys honor alongside 19 players and two executives, Jimmy Johnson solidifies his place in the history of the franchise. Expressing gratitude, Johnson thanked Jerry Jones for bringing him to the Dallas Cowboys, acknowledging the significant impact that their partnership had on the team's success.

Johnson's departure from the Cowboys after the 1993 season was marked by a high-level split with Jones. Speculation circulated that the abrupt end was due to a clash over who should receive credit for the team's turnaround. From a dismal 1-15 record in 1989, the year Jones acquired the Cowboys and hired Johnson, the team went on to secure their first back-to-back Super Bowl titles in franchise history in 1992 and 1993.

Addressing the issue, Johnson stated, "I think we're past who gets credit. The two of us, working together, made history. When I say working together, we talked every single day. I don't ever recall us having a difference of opinion."

Following his tenure with the Cowboys, Johnson would go on to coach the Miami Dolphins before ultimately retiring and transitioning to the TV side of the sport.

With Johnson's induction into the Dallas Cowboys' Ring of Honor, it appears that the chapter of tension between him and Jerry Jones has finally come to a close. The celebration of his remarkable coaching career serves as a symbol of reconciliation and an affirmation of the significant contributions he made to the franchise's success.
