JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville Jaguars have recently announced a series of roster moves, aiming to strengthen their lineup for upcoming games.
The first move saw the Jaguars activate wide receiver Jamal Agnew from the Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return List. Agnew, who has already appeared in eight games this season, has proven himself with nine receptions for 90 yards, as well as displaying his versatility in special teams with 11 punt returns for 117 yards and seven kickoff returns for 194 yards. Agnew, who was originally drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2017, joined the Jaguars in March 2021 as an unrestricted free agent.
In order to create space for Agnew's return, the Jaguars decided to waive quarterback Nathan Rourke from the active roster. While Rourke's time with the team was limited, this move opens up opportunities for other players to contribute in the quarterback position.
Additionally, the Jaguars have chosen to elevate tight end Josh Pederson from the practice squad to the active roster via standard elevation. Pederson's elevation comes just in time for tomorrow's game, providing the team with an additional option in the tight end position.
These roster moves highlight the Jaguars' commitment to refining and optimizing their lineup as they continue to strive for improved performances on the field. With Agnew's return and Pederson's elevation, the team hopes to capitalize on their strengths and make a significant impact in the upcoming games.
The Jaguars' next game is set to take place soon, and fans can expect to see how these roster moves will affect the team's performance on the field.
